Twitter is after fighting over Tweet data


In the debate about whether Twitter must release the tweets one Occupy activists for a process, the micro-blogging service has apparently given way: As the BBC reported, Twitter should have handed over the information to the court on Friday. The tweets, the report says, but still remain unchecked, until a decision on an appeal, the counsel for the defendant to have been inserted.

Previously, Twitter had failed with an appeal against the publication, after which the judge affirmed a decision by the end of June. According to which Twitter would have had until this Friday (September 14) time to transfer the data. Otherwise, the company would have to submit the numbers of the last two quarters, so that the court can determine an appropriate penalty.

The dispute stems from a process initiated in January 2012 at an Occupy activist who was arrested in October 2011 at a demonstration. Prosecutors hope to gain from the deleted tweets from a specific period insight as to whether the defendant was informed in advance that an illegal march.
