Sony unveils new slimmer and lighter version of its PlayStation 3

The Japanese multinational Sony introduced a new version of its PlayStation 3 (PS3), with a smaller and lighter design, which goes on sale this fall in Europe, North America and Japan.
At a conference on the occasion of the game show Tokyo Game Show, which begins Thursday in the Japanese capital, Sony Computer Entertainment explained that the new PS3 will be available in three models, one with a hard drive of 500 GB, another with a 250 GB and one with added flash 12GB.
The device costs between 229 and 299 euros in Europe, where will be released on September 28, and between 249-299 dollars in North America, where its launch will take place on the 25th of that month in its 250 GB and October 30 in the version of 500 GB.
In a statement, Sony said that the internal volume and weight of the new PS3 has been reduced by more than half compared to having the first model of this console with a 60GB hard drive, and between 20% and 25% compared to the PS3 Slim, released in 2009.
In addition, will have a slide deck for the disk, instead of the previous slot, to keep "the simple design characteristic" of the device.
The Japanese multinational recalled that since the launch of PS3 in November 2006, the number of software titles themselves has exceeded 3,300, and noted that the platform will continue to expand this console to the continuous release of new games.
In addition, Sony also announced that its PlayStation Plus subscription service, available through PlayStation Network network, will be available for the PS Vita for next November.
The Japanese multinational accounts explained that subscribed to this service on the PS3 may also use it with the PS Vita at no additional cost, and vice versa.
