Device-ID replacement in iOS 6 faulty

Advertising marketers and developers complain about problems with the Apple Advertising Identifier (AAI) in the new iOS version 6 Ravi Kamran, head of marketing services Trademob, compared to the IT blog TechCrunch said it before coming to users who have upgraded to iOS via WLAN 6 that the AAI would simply zeros and is therefore useless. For updates via iTunes and the cable does not apply.

The AAI allowed to follow on user behavior across applications in order to present them can be personalized advertising - report if several or even many devices the same AAI is all zeroes, it does not work of course. The new technology replaces the previously used UDID, an instrument identification, as opposed to the AAI is always clear and not erasable. Apple forbids the UDID-use ever since iOS 6, the identification numbers are as protected under data protection and data leaks were already in place under a big issue.

Apple has said nothing on the problems with the AAI so far. The second UDID replacement, called the Vendor Identifier, which is not advertisers, but developers available to prepare, so far apparently no problems.
