Sales of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is banned in the U.S.

Sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet remains in the U.S. for the time being prohibited. The Judge Lucy Koh rejected a request by Samsung and made the preliminary sales ban imposed in June in force, even though the jury had found in the patent dispute between Samsung and Apple is no breach of Apple's design patents by the device.

Koh argues, according to court documents that the appeal of the South Koreans now had first instance court on the next train. Moreover, the jury's decision was not yet confirmed. The jury had inflicted a heavy defeat in August Samsung. They found that various Samsung devices infringe patents owned by Apple, saying the iPhone maker to at least 1.05 billion U.S. dollars in damages.

The "acquittal" for the Galaxy Tab was virtually the only success for Samsung. The South Koreans want to overturn the jury's decision before Judge Koh confirmed, Apple requested meanwhile selling restrictions in other Samsung devices. The process is expected to drag on for months yet.
