World's largest oil company, is struggling with virus

The world's largest oil producer Saudi Aramco is obviously affected by a virus attack. As the Saudi Arabian state-owned companies announced via Facebook, as a precautionary measure one's own computer network for external access has been blocked.

The infestation is probably occurred mainly in numerous workstations, network components and centralized databases were owing to adequate backups and multiple redundant systems not affected. Oil production could thus continue relatively unimpeded.

To the nature of the problem called Aramco no further details, any more than the virus could get into the system. As Bloomberg reported, with reference to the Arabic-language newspaper al-Hayat, the virus could also affect the oil companies Chevron and Schlumberger, as their networks are connected to the system by Aramco.

The men behind the attack are not yet known. Pastebin on a group called "Arab Youth Group" has spoken out, who wants to be responsible for the attack on Aramco, Tadawul also for cyber-attacks on the Saudi stock exchange.
