Platform as a Service with CAMP: A new standard in work

A standard for an API for management and control of cloud applications will propose a group of several technology companies of the standards organization OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards). If, under the leadership of Oracle and Red is the Cloud Application Management for Platforms (CAMP) standardize the management, packaging and rolling out applications in PaaS environments (Platform as a Service) and interoperable even across the borders between different cloud environments simplify.

The first step is to CAMP, one of its designers are also involved Huawei, Rackspace and Software AG, PaaS define a management interface that will serve as a starting point for REST-based multi-cloud management tools. So shall it be about on-premise applications can be established on private or public cloud platforms, and also rolling out these applications on cloud platforms from different vendors would be a scenario for CAMP.

The standard is intended to provide a standard interface and a uniform command set for different clouds and, with only minor adjustments, to be compatible with development environments, regardless of whether they were PaaS capable or not.
