Windows Tablets: from 600 to 1400 euros

On 26 October there will be so far: Then will give Microsoft launched Windows 8, at the same time bring the PC manufacturers to develop their tablets on the market. At IFA can touch many prototypes - and most manufacturers already betrayed the prices.

Have to distinguish between three Windows tablet types: the relatively large and heavy tablets that are aisgestattet with Intel's fast Core-i CPUs, the tablets with Intel's undetailed imagined Atom CPU Clover Trail, and the easy, flat tablets with ARM CPU and Windows RT.

At the upper end of the price scale are the Core i-Tablets. One of the best units in this segment is expected to be Acer's W700 - it costs 700 euros. The other previously known devices are much more expensive: Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro will cost $ 1,200.

Sony and Toshiba have also introduced Core i-devices, namely tablet notebook hybrids with elaborate sliding mechanisms. Entry-level prices are from 1200 Euro, Sony flagship costs 1400 Euro. The decor is suitably lush, one can expect a 128-GB SSD and a 12-inch display.

Atom Tablets are cheaper Acer demands for its 10-inch W510 600 euros, with UMTS it costs 700 euros. On board are 64 GB memory, included is a detachable keyboard with extra battery.

Samsung's Smart Ativ PC, also with nuclear costs, $ 650 and $ 750 with no keyboard. HP Envy X2 is an impressive 900 euros, in return you get a 11.6-inch display and 64 GB of storage and docking keyboard with battery.

The RT Tablets carry no price tags, but people from Asus and Samsung suggest that their models are likely costs range between 600 and 800 euros. Are expected to be at least 32 GB of memory on board, at least Asus wants mitliefern a keyboard. By comparison, Apple's current iPad with 16 GB of memory will cost 480 euros, for the 32-gigabyte version, you pay 580 euros.

So far, so under no manufacturer offers the iPad and Android tablets in the price. Instead, they argue with the greater flexibility of the Windows device, especially with the clip-on or slide-out keyboards, and the opportunity to use the Atom and Core i-Tablets traditional Windows programs.

Maybe but still follows a Windows tablet with Challenging Price: Microsoft has yet to reveal what the cost Surface own tablets.
