Google plans rapid response to data protection


Google is looking for experts for a new "Privacy Red Team", as shown in a recently published vacancy for a "Data Privacy Engineer". This is to ensure that "our products are designed to the highest standards and operated in a manner that protects the privacy of our users." Focus is the collaboration in the Red Team. What is needed is the ability to independently identify privacy risks, analyze and defuse.

Preferred candidate will "bring the detailed knowledge of the inner workings of modern web browsers and computer networks" and software implementations from the point to analyze data security and protection. It is an advantage if a candidate already has experience with the discovery of unusual or only gradually apparent lack of safety gaps.

In a "Red Team" is an independently operating group organization investigated internally software or hardware and entire networks for possible weak points out. The term has a tradition of military war games, but it is also common for large companies for a long time.

Google wants to get rid of the build up the team's image as obvious Datenkrake.
