Private broadcasters angry about YouTube's plans for expansion

The German commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL groups react irritably to plans of Google subsidiary YouTube, via the video portal in the future to offer more film and television productions in full length and build a complete step by step online video store. "YouTube is acting increasingly aggressive and moves outside of our regulatory framework," citing the news magazine "Der Spiegel", the Board of ProSiebenSat.1 Conrad Albert in his place tomorrow Monatg appearing issue. Even in Germany YouTube with the offer "Movies" a first, albeit still quite small step taken in this direction already.

However, according to Spiegel is currently a tender to purchase from YouTube with the aim of German rights to exclusive content production companies. At this should have involved, among other things, the production company Endemol, according to the news magazine also think Brainpool its own comedy channel on YouTube. Constantin is credited for the producer, such a commitment is not currently within reason.

The commercial broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 and RTL group was banned in 2011 by the Federal Cartel Office to establish a joint online video platform. Tobias Schmid, head of media policy at RTL, described it to the mirror as "absurd" that the private channels, user-friendly products for the benefit would be banned from Google, "the white fill the gap, of course."
