IT job: hiring contraction in 2012 will increase in 2013
·
With slow growth in 2012 in the areas of services, technology consulting and publishing software, valued at 0.7% by Syntec Informatique, the employment situation has deteriorated over the last year.
In November 2011, employers claiming 40,000 recruitments, including 31,000 managers and 10,000 net new jobs. In April, however Syntec Numérique revised its accounts, bringing the number of net job creation in 5600.
5000 creations 2012, an estimate very unlikely
As the forecast for 2012 is not questioned. It has instead been confirmed Thursday, November 22: 35,000 including 30,000 recruitment professionals. "It went better than the first half second" recognizes Luc-François Salvador, Chairman of the Committee Social employment and training.
Regarding the precise number of net new, it is not yet known. But according to the President of Syntec Numérique, Guy Mamou-Mani, it should be around the 5000. "Between five and 10,000" he added later.
"We miss the fourth quarter of 2012 and Q4 we feel nevertheless that our members will be very cautious about their hiring," says Pascal Brier yet the commission communication.
However, these estimates appear very fragile. "On the full year 2012, the number of managers employed in computer operations could be significantly less than 30,000 executive recruitment carried out in 2011" and warns Apec.

As for the evaluation of the number of net new for 2012, it also seems very optimistic. Too probably. With growth of only 0.7%, the companies would indeed almost as many jobs created in 2011, during which growth was 3.6%.
Moreover, in 2010, almost equivalent level of growth (1%), the net job creation had not exceeded 4000 counts from the Syntec. Creations to 5,000 in 2012 with a growth of 0.7% appears therefore as a goal difficult to achieve.
Possible job losses in 2013, mainly SSII
And 2013, in terms of employment prospects are not encouraging as Syntec Numérique believes that recruitment should be in the range of 20 to 25,000. This decrease in hiring could it be accompanied by a loss of jobs? "No, I do not think" responds immediately Guy Mamou-Mani.
"Not because it is concurrent with a decrease in turnover. And a very significant reduction in turnover "he justifies. In a difficult economic environment, employees generally tend to remain in office.
In 2009, a year marked by job losses in 8000, turnover had been halved. However, with a decrease in activity expected for SSII 0.9% in 2013, these are the first that could reduce their numbers.
