Amazon allows trade with reserved EC2 instances

Who has reserved a EC2 instance in Amazon's cloud service AWS, had been paid for one or three years for a fixed amount, regardless of whether he needed the instance or not. In return for the one-time payment, Amazon grants to the usage-based charges a discount.

A Reserved Instance Marketplace now allows AWS customers to trade such EC2 instances with each other. Which should enable them to acquire some instances other than the specified times or ahead of schedule to upgrade to a different version. This may be necessary as if the instance is found in practice to be too small or too large.
