Motorola's success dispute against Microsoft still blocked
Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility must continue to implement not be against Microsoft sales ban in Germany for the Xbox game console and the Windows software. A U.S. appeals court rejected on Friday from Motorola's appeal against a corresponding verdict of a judge from Seattle. The dispute is about patents for the H.264 video standard, which is used in many devices and programs used. The Mannheim Regional Court had determined in May the infringement of two patents by Motorola-Microsoft. Although it is about a process in Germany, the order of the court from Seattle in this particular case was lawful, decided the appeal judges, because a still ongoing U.S. method for same dispute complex started earlier and it came to two American companies, it said to justify. The case had caused quite a stir - especially since Microsoft in anticipation of the Mannheim Court moved its European logistics center in North Rhine-Westphalia in the Netherlands.
