Large sensors, bright fixed focal lengths, powerful camera processors - High-end compact cameras have now reduced the distance to quality system and SLR dramatically. But who are they? They are now a serious alternative to mirrorless system cameras? This question answered by a recent c't Digital Photography, which is laid out as of today in the magazine trade, but also can be ordered online. Eleven cameras - seven and four Compact Mirrorless - occur in issue 1/2013 to today, including the compact Samsung and Sony EX2F RX100. In a twenty-page comparison test for facing the camera system Nikon 1 J2, G5 Panasonic, Samsung NX20 and Sony NEX-F3.
If you have already decided on a Mirrorless stands, but still spoiled for choice: If you put on accessories and lenses offer a single brand, or at least on the Micro Four Thirds standard? Issue 1/13 gives a total of 21 pages with an overview of the current lens range and has also tested eight selected lens designs in detail.
Also in this issue is an in-depth workshop on photography of children and a Lightroom post-practice on tonal corrections, and a how-to on how to build yourself a practical photo accessories, such as a tilt-shift lens.
On the DVD booklet (PDF), there are in addition to two full versions (Perspectiv pilot and Silkypix 4.0 Elements) a total of six video tutorials, among other more exotic themes such as photography with Kolodiumverfahren or night photography with an analog camera compartment. Also stored on the DVD is the 270-page e-book "Developing With Lightroom".
The issue 1/13 cost 8.90 euros, the delivery to Germany, Austria and Switzerland is free. A subscription (4 × c't Digital Photography + per year access to the article archive + iPad access), including a 16-GB Transcend SDHC card costs 32 euros.
